准备使用的新树脂先用热水反复清洗。阳树脂可用70～80℃的热水，阴树脂（特别是强碱阴树脂）的耐热性较差，可用50～60℃的热水。开始浸洗时，每隔15分钟左右换水一次，浸洗时要不是搅拌，换水4～5次后，可隔30分钟左右换水一次，总共换水7～8次，浸泡至洗涤水不带褐色，泡沫很少时为止。

树脂用热水洗涤后装填进柱，再用酸、碱处理。阳树脂用1mol/1HCL缓缓流过树脂层，用量约为树脂体积的2～3倍，约2小时流完，用水稍淋洗后，再用1mol/1NaOH流过树脂层，用量和流速同前。碱流完后，用水淋洗至出水ph9左右，再用1mol/1HCL或0.5mol/1H2SO4将树脂转成H+型，用量为树脂体积的3～4倍，流速与前同。酸流完后，用水淋洗至出水ph6以上时，即可投入运行。
